About these terms

These terms apply to everyone who uses Best New York (bestnewyork.us), whether you are reading the guides or managing a business listing. By using the site you accept them; if you do not agree, please do not use it.

What the site is

Best New York is a guide to the best-rated local businesses in New York City. It publishes rankings and listings for information only. They are an editorial selection, not professional, legal, financial or medical advice, and not a guarantee about any business, its products or its services. Any dealings you have with a listed business are between you and that business.

How the rankings are made

Rankings are built from the public information each business shows on Google Maps, such as its average rating, number of reviews, category, address, phone, website, opening hours and photos. The rating and the number of reviews are weighed together, and businesses with too little public information or very few reviews are left out. Accuracy and changes

We check and update listings periodically, but businesses change their hours, prices, services and addresses, sometimes without notice, and public information can be wrong. We cannot guarantee that every detail is complete, accurate or current when you read it, so please confirm hours, prices and availability with the business before you go or decide. We may add, change, move or remove listings and rankings at any time.

Business listings and the business area

Owners and authorized representatives can claim a listing, ask for corrections and add information through the For businesses page. You may only act for a business you are entitled to represent, and what you submit must be true and lawful. Edits are reviewed before publication, and we may decline or adjust any submission that is inaccurate, misleading or unsuitable.

The paid plans, Pro and Top, and what each includes are described on the For businesses page. A paid plan never changes a business's position in a ranking, except for the Top places, which are clearly marked. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms.

Acceptable use

You are welcome to read, share and link to our pages. You must not copy the rankings or listings in bulk, scrape the site with bots or similar software, try to disrupt the site or gain unauthorized access to it, submit false information, impersonate a business or a person, or use the site for anything unlawful.

Intellectual property

The texts, the selection and arrangement of the rankings, and the design of Best New York are protected by intellectual property rights and may not be reproduced without permission. Business names, logos and photos belong to their respective owners. Map data is © OpenStreetMap contributors.

Liability

Best New York is provided free of charge and as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for decisions you make based on the site, for the products, services or conduct of the businesses listed, for the content of other websites, or for periods when the site is unavailable. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law or any rights you have as a consumer.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms from time to time. The version on this page is the one that applies, and by continuing to use the site after a change you accept the updated terms. For questions about these terms or to report a problem, write to info@bestnewyork.us.
